Student Learning Expectations – Kindergarten through 2nd Grade
St. Philip students should work to be:

A. Active Christians who:
1.Care for themselves, God, others and things
2.Wear a smile and act like Jesus
3.Are kind, understanding and fair
4.Know the teachings and stories of God
5.Pay attention and participate in songs and prayers at Mass

1. Try hard and do their best in all their work
2. Share what they know in school
3. Are open and excited to learn new things
4. Try different and new ways to solve their problems
5. Develop good study habits

1.Take part in class and complete their work
2.Are leaders inside and outside of school
3.Are proud to be themselves
4.Are kind, polite and thoughtful neighbors
5.Try things they cannot already do

1. Share their ideas and listen to others
2.Accept all people for who they are
3.Work as a team for the good of the group and the individual student
4.Accept responsibility for their words and actions
5.Treat all the people of the world fairly
6.Work to make their neighborhood a better place

St. Philip students should work to be:

1.Develop a positive attitude and spirituality
2.Exhibit Christian behavior, including values of compassion, tolerance and justice
3.Have a basic knowledge of the teachings and history of the Church
4.Learn about and actively participate in liturgical ceremonies

1.Show pride and responsibility for all course work
2.Demonstrate a strong foundation in all basic subjects
3.Display a strong sense of curiosity, open-mindedness and enthusiasm for learning
4.Think critically and creatively, developing the ability to solve problems
5.Demonstrate effective organization, research and study skills
