GENERAL SUPPLIES REQUIRED FOR STUDENTS GRADE 6
· 60 Bonded #2 Lead Pencils with erasers for communal classroom use in Home Room.
· A small portable pencil sharpener with shavings catcher.
· Colored pencils, crayons and/or 8 water-soluble colored markers.
· Blue, black and red ink pens only.
· A durable pencil pouch for writing supplies.
· A pair of small safety scissors.
· One bottle of Elmer’s Glue-All or 3 glue sticks.
· A single or three-hole punch.
· A DAILY supply of college-ruled binder paper and graph paper (loose-leaf without
perforations or attachments)
· A simple, easy-to-use calculator
· A ruler with metric and standard units of measurement and 3-holes.
· A standard protractor and metal compass.
· A High Speed Flash Drive (a portable data storage companion)
· Three boxes of kleenex (facial tissue) for communal classroom use in Home Room and
Science
· 11/2 inch (or larger) three-ringed binder with a pack of color-coded subject dividers.
· Two (2) large notebooks (without perforated paper) for Science & Social Studies.
· Seven flap folders (one for each class: Social Studies, Science, Math, Literature, Religion,
Vocabulary, English)
· One (1) 3-hole pronged folder for Literature
· Two (2) packages of 3” x 5” index cards (lined)
**Note: 2 sets of supplies (one for home and one for school) works wonders for organization.
Students in Grade 6 will also need:
· A paperback dictionary with word etymology, such as The American Heritage Dictionary
· Holy Bible: Good News Translation Catholic Edition; Publisher: American Bible Society,
New York; Copyright 1992; ISBN 1-58516-679-0.
**Please note: this may be purchased from school next fall.
CONTRABAND
(Items Not Allowed)
· No permanent markers.
· No pins, safety pins, needles, or other sharp object.
· No correction fluid and correction tape (a.k.a. White Out)
· No stapler or staples
· No gum, candy, unshelled seeds and nuts, open packages of food or drinks in glass bottles at school.
· No backpacks on wheels or any luggage-carrying device on wheels (unless a doctor’s note is provided).
· No makeup in any form. This includes glitter lotions, scented lotions, tinted lip balms (tinted Chapsticks), perfumes and finger nail polishes
· No hair colors and/or tints (highlights, lowlights, streaks, etc.) in any form.
· No hats, no caps, no hoods or any other possible head gear.
· No rings, no anklets, no bracelets; one precious metal necklace with a religious symbol worn
unobtrusively and one wristwatch is acceptable.
· No skin graffiti: students writing on themselves or others with pens and markers is not allowed
· All electronic devices (iPods, CD players, ear phones, cell phones, etc.) must not be used when at school (between 7:45 a.m. and 3:00 p.m) and must be kept in backpacks.
However some teachers will collect electronic devices during school hours. All phones
must be off at school between 7:50 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. If a phone rings in class,
it may be confiscated and sent to the office for parent retrieval.
